International Swans to Keep an Eye on This Weekend

Swansea City take a welcome break from Premier League action this week as international football takes centre stage.

Normally, the international break is looked upon as a distraction and Garry Monk has even labelled the timing of the break as “farcical”, but it may have come at just the right time and it could turn out to be exactly what the Swans needed. It gives Monk time to sit down, analyse, dissect, and try to figure out what on earth has gone wrong at the Liberty Stadium in the last couple of months.

Not like you needed reminding, but the Swans have won just once in eight league games, losing five of those eight fixtures. After seemingly turning the corner with the 2-1 win at Aston Villa last month, Monk’s side then fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Arsenal, before losing 1-0 at Norwich City last weekend.

Nevertheless, we’re going to do our best to forget about domestic football for now and concentrate on international matters. Swansea have 18 players on national duty this week – we take a look at the international Swans who you should look out for this weekend.
